Ngembambili Primary School

Luhimba, Tanzania

Worlebury St.Paul's Primary School's link with Ngembambili Primary School has been developing since November 2006. Mr.Paul Temple was our initial contact in establishing this link because he has been part of the 'Luhimba Project' for the last 26 years.  He has seen the village grow through various means of support. The project's priority has been to support the villagers to improve their quality of life. Everything completed has been at the request of the villagers with the aim of sustainability.  Mr Temple now has a house in the village and visits at least twice a year.  This has meant communication and contact has been on a personal level.

Letters, photographs and children's learning have been exchanged between Worlebury Primary School and Ngembambili Primary over the years with Paul as the courier.  We are exploring ways to increase communication beyond the twice a year by using the postal system and fax in the near future.

After achieving a British Council Global School Partnership Bid, to help fund reciprocal visits, Mrs. Quick visited Ngembambili Primary School in the Autumn of 2008.  She spent three weeks working with the staff and children there.
